TASK - ELT tasks and activities

                                                                  LOGBOOK

Week: 14                                                                                                        Date: 08/01/2014

Website: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/2gqwft1yr30lgdu/KlqQw_Gu7Z

As a final orange webmix, I want to explain that it is completely related to all the work and tasks I’ve been doing during this course in ELT subject. However, there are some reflections added in a different webmix, so I compiled almost everything I have from ELT.

That helps me because when I think I am in front of a class and I need tools and ideas to carry on some activity with my pupils, I am sure that reading the information that this webmix contains is going to be useful for me.

I am very proud of all I’ve done in this course, so what could be better than save it and use it in two or three years, taking into account I am very optimistic.

TASK - Advanced exercises, tasks and activities

                                                                      LOGBOOK

Week: 14                                                                                                    Date: 07/01/2014

Website: https://www.dropbox.com/s/wgycdp56h735l09/Advanced%20English%20work.docx

This comment will be focused on all the tasks, activities and work I have done during the course in Advanced English subject. In order to improve my Personal Learning Environment, I decided to create a webmix in my Symbaloo where I could find all the work I did in Advanced English subject.

It is going to become an incredible tool for me in the future, since there are a lot of reflections about interesting topics, so I am going to realise if I have changed a lot in terms of my thoughts. In addition, there are a lot of writings with useful expressions and words I’ve learned this course, therefore it is something I can use whenever I want.

TASK - Music and moods CLIL project

                                                                      LOGBOOK

Week: 14                                                                                                   Date: 07/01/2014

The next task was not elaborated in ELT subject, but it was developed in Advanced English. However, our ELT teachers told us we had to add all the work related to our Personal Learning Environment. For this reason, I thought it would be a good idea the fact of adding my microteaching done in Advanced English class.

It is a CLIL activity developed using Music and English at the same time. It is not an easy task for me since I am not good at music, but I believe our group made a good job and we finally elaborated a great project. This project would be for fourth primary students.

TASK - Present myself as a teacher

                                                                      LOGBOOK

Week: 14                                                                                                         Date: 07/01/2014

In terms of this task I had to do compulsory, I want to underline that I chose the Power Point as a tool to elaborate it. There are explained the different characteristics I have and I would like to achieve in the near future, and there are also reflections such as being the perfect teacher.

Every characteristic I highlighted is matched with an image so as to make easier to understand what I am referring to.

While I was elaborating the Power Point I was learning new vocabulary related to personality, therefore a part from learning new vocabulary, I took an idea of how I want to be as a teacher and how I am nowadays.

TASK - self-evaluation of the microteaching's presentation

                                                                      LOGBOOK

Week: 14                                                                                                           Date: 07/01/2014

Regarding my own evaluation I had to do focused on the presentation of our microteaching, I divided it into two parts. In the first part, we can read the positive aspects the teacher and my classmates highlighted after our presentation.

On the other hand, we can find the drawbacks we have to take into account in order to improve. In that way, we are going to achieve a better level in our future lessons as teacher. Following on from that, there is a brief summary of the presentation.

TASK - Final contest reflection

                                                                   LOGBOOK

Week: 14                                                                                              Date: 07/01/2014

Website: https://www.dropbox.com/s/makueh7wvzs2uc0/Final%20contest%20reflection.docx

As for this task, I added it on my Symbaloo using Dropbox since I thought it would be a good way to read it and use whatever I wanted.

In that reflection there are a brief explanation of the contest, followed by the drawbacks and the assets of our presentation. In that way, I believe it is going to be easier for me to know what I have to improve as a teacher and what I have to keep doing. From my point of view, it is important the fact of having different tasks I’ve been done during this course since I can see my development from the first day to the final one, and I am sure I am going to be able to polish all the wrong contents and aspects I am not satisfied with.

On the other hand, I would like to underline that this contest could be played with almost all the primary courses, although the teacher should adapt the difficulties depending on the level it was played.

TASK - rhymes, poems, songs and riddles

                                                                         LOGBOOK

I’ve been away from home during the Christmas holidays, that’s why I could not post comments on my Logbook. Since it is the first week after Christmas, I am going to keep explaining my Symbaloo as well as new websites and work I’ve been doing to develop my Personal Learning Environment.

Today I am here in order to explain one of the tasks I have to do, which is to find a collection of rhymes, songs, poems and riddles for primary students. I uploaded a Word document on my Dropbox with different websites where that material could be found. There are rhymes, songs, poems and riddles for all the students from three to twelve years old.

From where I stand, this tool is a brilliant one since you always can teach students using this kind of material which is fun and meaningful for them.
